What equipment does Solis Body Club have?
The training floor is fitted with professional-grade Primal Strength equipment: a full free-weight area, plate-loaded machines, cardio machines and a dedicated functional zone — enough to train every muscle group.
Is Solis Body Club good for beginners?
Absolutely. Experienced coaches are on the floor to show you how the machines work and help with form. If you want a plan from day one, book a few sessions with one of our personal trainers.
Is there a defibrillator at the gym?
Yes. Solis Body Club is the only gym on the island with a defibrillator (AED) on site, so help is close if it’s ever needed.
Are there showers and lockers?
Yes — changing rooms with showers, secure lockers and hairdryers.
Is there parking at the gym?
Yes. Free, secure parking on site at The Hills Residence Unit 19, Simpson Bay — there are two parking areas.
Are there house rules?
A few, and they keep the floor great for everyone: re-rack your weights, wipe down, share equipment. Read the Solis gym rules.
How much does a personal trainer cost in St. Maarten?
It depends on the package and how often you train. Message us with your goal and we’ll send you the options.
I’m a complete beginner. Is personal training for me?
Especially for you. A coach teaches you the basics safely, builds your confidence on every machine and gives you a plan you can follow.
Can I get a body composition scan in St. Maarten?
Yes. Our body composition scan measures 36 health and fitness metrics — including body fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, body water and basal metabolic rate — for $25 (NAf 44.75) per session, and members get a free scan on their birthday. Ask a member of our team.
How often should I train with a coach?
Most people start with two or three sessions a week, then train on their own in between with the program their coach wrote.
Can you help with nutrition?
Our team knows training and nutrition, and the Solis Smoothie Bar makes hitting your protein easy.
What are the gym rules?
Respect, re-rack, wipe down, share the floor — ten simple rules. Read them all.
What recovery tools can I use now?
Normatec 3 compression (legs, hips and arms), the Hypervolt 2 massage gun, the Hyperice Vyper 3 vibrating roller and the Hypersphere vibrating ball. Normatec sessions are booked with the team: $3 (NAf 5.37) per 30 minutes for booking and cleaning.
What are Normatec compression boots?
Leg sleeves that inflate and release in waves, from your feet up. Athletes use them after hard sessions to help their legs feel fresh again.
Why does recovery matter?
Training breaks you down; recovery is when you come back stronger. Sleep, nutrition and simple recovery work help you train consistently.
What is HYROX?
A fitness race for everyone: eight 1 km runs, each followed by a workout station — ski, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. The format is the same in every HYROX race worldwide.
Where can I train for HYROX in St. Maarten?
At Solis Body Club in Simpson Bay — the only gym on the island offering HYROX, and an official HYROX Training Club. We run coached group classes, and members can practise the stations in open gym.
What HYROX equipment do you have?
A sled you can load with weight on our turf track, wall balls, farmers carry handles, a rower and a ski machine — so you can practise the race stations right here.
Can beginners do HYROX?
Yes. Most people race in the Open division, or in Doubles with a friend. Our classes teach you every station and build you up step by step.
How much are HYROX classes?
Message us for the class schedule and prices.
Is HYROX training included in my membership?
Members can practise the stations in open gym 24/7 with their QR code. Ask us about the group class options.
What is a body composition scan?
A quick scan that shows what your body is made of — fat, muscle, water and bone — not just your weight. Ours measures 36 health and fitness metrics.
How much is a body composition scan in St. Maarten?
$25 (NAf 44.75) per session at Solis Body Club in Simpson Bay. Members get a free scan on their birthday.
Do I need to be a member?
No. Members and visitors can both book a scan. Message us or ask at the front desk.
How do I prepare?
Don’t eat a big meal for 2–3 hours before, scan before your workout, go to the bathroom first and avoid alcohol the day before. For the best comparison, scan at the same time of day each time.
Who should not use the scanner?
Anyone with a pacemaker or another implanted electronic medical device, and pregnant women. The scan is for fitness tracking, not a medical diagnosis.
How often should I scan?
Every 4–8 weeks is a good rhythm to see real changes in fat and muscle.
